I have had a love for Italy and Italian since I enjoyed a visit to Sicily for the first time in the late 1970's. The picture from the window of my modest "pensione" was astonishing. The fragrance of perfume in the fresh air from the overwhelming quantity of flowers in Taormina in the Spring, had an notable impact on my senses.

However what really impressed me was the Italian language: The words caressed me like a boyfriend's touch - even though I did not know Italian.
